A Winner + a New Contest.. PLUS Free Nail Polish!

Nail Polish-Dulcinea LgAre you following 'la vie' on facebook? You should be! Every month I have a giveaway for a facebook fan to win. June, July + August = the summer of beach wraps and today I'm announcing the August winner... it is Ms. Kim Ortiz! Congratulations, Kim! I tried to contact you via facebook, but your privacy settings are too high. Contact me through the la vie page OR by e-mailing me at within the next week.
I've decided to give winners one week to contact me about their prize before pulling another name, fyi... just to keep things streamlined so that I don't get *so* backed up in getting prizes out.
On the facebook page, I asked readers if they still wanted a wrap for August or if they'd like to switch to something else since it's getting to be the fall and not really beach season anymore. There was a really huge response for winning a clutch instead, so I've decided that will be the September winning prize! I'll send the winner some pictures of fabric and she can choose which color she would like.
What do you guys want to win? I was thinking a pair of legwarmers for October.

AND- I posted this on facebook, but if you haven't seen it I wanted to share it again. I mentioned that I've gotten really into nail polish now that I've found some safe(r) brands. Most nail polish is filled with some really scary toxins. One of my readers asked me to specify what brands they are- so I did. One of the brands, Zoya, offers you a free bottle of  nail polish by clicking on THIS LINK. You'll need to create an account and then click "my account" at the top of the page. Next, click "my promotion codes" on the left hand side of the screen to activate your coupon for a FREE bottle of nail polish! Tip?? Add another bottle of nail polish to your cart and you'll get free shipping, too :) You can choose any bottle you'd like for free, I just used a link to Dulcinea because it's a nice, gorgeous nude.
September American Beauty BoxThe other brand I like is JULEP. They're definitely more expensive than Zoya and don't offer nearly as many good sales, but the quality is incredible. You can sign up to be a Julep Maven and pay $19.99 every month for a box from them containing different polish colors or products. I signed up and paid 1 penny for my first box. Since then I think I've only gotten one other box. It was a special edition that had 6 nail polishes inside plus a few other really cool products. You can skip as many months as you'd like and there are 5 different boxes to choose from each month. Mavens get 20% off of the entire shop, free shipping on their boxes + can add on nail polish for $4.99 to their maven boxes as well (normal price is $14/bottle).
That's all for today! I hope you're in the midst of an awesome Labor Day Weekend. John and I visited our local zoo yesterday (holla back annual pass!) and then went to my cousin's incredible art show with my parents. So far it has been awesome! All the best, and as always, thanks for reading!

  1. For years, I bit my nails and they were ugly. But about a year ago, I stopped one day and now have these gorgeous nails that I am so proud of. If I can do it, anyone can. It just took over 60 years to get here. Beautiful polished bright red this weekend.

  2. I took your advice and ordered a couple bottles from Zoya, a light teal and the nude one you linked to. They came today and I'm so excited to see how they look!

    1. ahh... I'm jealous! I bought Minka before I saw Dulcinea. Minka is still pretty fab, but it is a straight up nude with no shimmer, sparkle or goldness. Let me know if you love them!

    2. I absolutely love them! I currently have Wednesday on my toes and Dulcinea on my fingers. I must say, I'm feeling pretty classy and--wait for it--polished. Not to mention surprised that I'm happy with a nail polish color not in the red/pink family.

    3. YAY! I'm so glad :) I already have another list of colors I want to order.
